Lori Wuchevich, born in Chicago, IL. on September 14th, 1964, crossed over on February 29th 2024. Lori was a wife for 41 years to Michael Wuchevich and, mother of three to Steven, Liz, and Allison. Grandmother of four; Adam, Shane, Damon, and Addie. Lori had many passions and was not afraid to jump into something new at any time. There was no dabbling into something, it was all or nothing. Lori loved Disney, cruising on the ocean waters, riding her Harley Davidson Sportster, playing golf, but most of all loved the life that she built in the last 7 years.
Lori lived a very full life in her 59 years. Lori and Mike met at Great America in 1982 and married just 5 months later as they knew they had found the partner of their life. Lori was a military spouse while Mike served in the US Navy and spent 52 of the 59 years of her life in Chicago bringing three lovely children into the world. During her time in Chicago, she had a huge influence in her community and with youth hockey. She was loved by many neighborhood children and built a safe home that all the kids would visit and hang out at. Many of those children who knew her and her children growing up have become lifelong friends and became better individuals simply by knowing her. This love for community and an extended family continued to be a staple in Lori’s life well after those children grew up and became adults. It became a weekly occurrence for neighborhood friends and family to visit and have fun swimming in their pool, playing badminton, or sitting around the bonfire eating smores. Simple things in life were a true enjoyment for Lori, especially when she was with her friends and family. This effect she had in the neighborhood expanded to the youth hockey community where she was a strong supporter of Steven while he grew up playing. Hockey became a huge part of the family and Lori was no stranger to the excitement and ferocity that is associated with that sport. She loved watching the game, even tried playing the game, and developed amazing friendships with everyone in the hockey world.
In 2016, Lori and Mike moved to Central Florida where Lori exploded into the woman she was today. Lori started her own business, A-Z Bookkeeping Services Inc. in 2017 and became a South Lake Chamber of Commerce member. Lori embraced her new roles and became the most energetic individual with that infectious, beautiful smile that would light up the room any time she entered one. Lori swiftly became an integral part of the Chamber family, her warmth and leadership shining brightly as she took the helm as Chair of the Ambassador Committee from 2022-2023. Lori sat on the Board of the Neighborhood Center of South Lake striving to help the less fortunate fight hunger within the community as well as mentoring high school students at Minneola High School. Lori enthusiastically embraced the community that she loved and dedicated her time to helping anyone who would allow her to.
As we bid farewell to Lori, let us honor her memory by continuing her legacy of love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation, In Memory of Lori Wuchevich or The Neighborhood Center of South Lake.
