Nestled on a picturesque hill in Clermont, The Clermont Arts and Recreation Center, known as “The Arc” and celebrated as “The Gem On The Hill,” is commemorating its 10th anniversary this year. Over the past decade, The Arc has grown into a vibrant community center, offering a variety of inside and outside programs and events for residents of all ages.

A Gem for Every Occasion

The Arc boasts a variety of rooms available for rent, catering to diverse needs such as weddings, birthday parties, and business meetings. For those seeking theatrical experiences, the facility provides two distinct theater spaces for rent:

  • Black Box Theater: This intimate venue offers seating for 193 and features a 550 sq ft stage, perfect for small performances and events.

  • Mainstage Theater: As the largest venue within The Arc, the Mainstage Theater hosts concerts, musicals, and special events.

(Customizable packages are available to suit specific needs, with rental rates varying based on event type, duration, and technical requirements).

The Arc’s diverse program offerings ensure there is something for everyone, and include:

  • Yoga Classes:
    • Chair Yoga: Monday and Wednesday, 4:30 – 6:00 pm
    • Hatha Yin: Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Performing Arts:
    • Drama Kids (Ages 6-12): Tuesday, 5:30 – 6:30 pm
    • Acting Academy (Ages 12-18): Tuesday, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
  • Martial Arts:
    • Kudokan (Ages 5+): Monday & Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Language and Dance:
    • Fun in Spanish (Ages 3-12): Thursday, 10:00 – 11:00 am
    • Latin Dance Classes (Ages 10+):
      • Beginner/Intermediate Bachata: 6:00 – 6:50 pm

    • Sarah Costello Irish Dance Academy (Ages 3-17): Wednesday, 6:00 – 7:00 pm

    • Windermere Basketball Academy:
      • Ages 6-13: Tuesday, 6:30 – 7:30 pm; Saturday, 9:00 – 10:00 am
      • Ages 14-17: Tuesday, 7:30 – 8:30 pm; Saturday, 10:00 – 11:00 am
    • Tai Chi For Health (All ages):
      • Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00 – 11:00 am (in gymnasium)
      • Evening Classes:
        • Advanced: 6:30 – 7:30 pm
        • Beginners: 5:30 – 6:30 pm
    • Zumba Gold (55+): Tuesday & Thursday, 11:15 am – 12:00 pm

In addition to these spaces, The Arc’s Gymnasium is available for parties, team practices, and more.

  • Open Gym Programs:
    • Open Volleyball and Open Basketball (All ages)
    • Open Youth Basketball (Ages 17 and under; ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian)

The Pool, a seasonal highlight, is open from April through October, providing a refreshing escape during the warmer months.

  • Pickleball Courts 
  • Clermont Community Garden provides an opportunity for residents to grow their own vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers.
