Every month, from September through May, Clermont Garden Club members loan plants to Cooper Memorial Library and Clermont City Hall to promote horticulture awareness and connect our community to Clermont Garden Club’s programs, civic activities, and community outreach.

Clermont Garden Club member, Arlene Rand, loaned a kalanchoe plant to Cooper Memorial Library.  Kalanchoe is a tropical perennial succulent that is low maintenance. A south-facing window is the best spot for this plant as it offers bright direct light for long periods. Kalanchoe prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil. Water the potted plant once the top 1-2 inches of soil dries out.

Ruth Webb loaned a chrysanthemum to Clermont City Hall.  Keep potted chrysanthemums (or mums) in a sunny area in your home. Find a window that allows lots of sun in, and make sure the mums get at least 4 hours of direct sunlight a day (4-6 hours is ideal). Keep the soil moist. Don’t over-water your mums, because it could be disastrous if they get too dry.

Clermont Garden Club members meet monthly (September through May) at the clubhouse located at 849 West Avenue, Clermont, FL. New members and guests are warmly welcome. Clermont Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
