Downtown Clermont’s culinary scene is about to welcome a new addition. Formerly known as The Southern on Eight, the restaurant, located at 801 W. Montrose St. will reopen on Christmas Eve, December 24, with a new dining experience called Crafted

Crafted promises to elevate the dining landscape in Downtown Clermont with its fresh concept and inviting atmosphere. This transformation is sure to delight locals and visitors alike, adding to the charm of the historic downtown area.

The building itself carries a rich history, cherished by long-time residents. More than 60 years ago, it was home to Bob’s Bar, the community’s local bar. In the early 1980s, the property was purchased and transformed into Tiffany’s Elegant Dining. Later, it became LJ Grunts before being sold in the 1990s to Alan and Katherine Pool, who renamed it 801 City Grille. In 2020, Darren and Karen Johnson acquired the building, partnering with Richard and Michelle Formato to create The Southern on Eight.

Now Crafted prepares to open its doors, carrying forward the legacy while offering a refreshed vision for its future. Located in the heart of Downtown Clermont, this historic site is poised to become a new favorite for those seeking a unique and memorable dining experience.
