Mayor Tim Murry

 December 2024

Hello Clermont Champions,

Chilly air helped set the mood as the first events of “Light Up Clermont 2024” kicked off on December 6, bringing lots of residents, guests, and visitors to town to check out holiday celebrations, Clermont style.

From the official lighting of the Christmas tree at City Hall Park and the downtown Christmas parade to the kid-favorite Cookies and Cocoa stroll, the holiday season is in full swing.

Our “Enchanted Forest of Trees” at Victory Pointe continues to grow and this year boasts 80 beautifully decorated trees complete with holiday music and lights. I hope you can make time to visit and then vote online at www.ClermontFl.gov by January 5 for your favorites.

We appreciate those who participated and supported these events and a very special thank you to City staff who work hard to make these wonderful community events happen each year.

Our 2025 events begin on January 20 with a remembrance program at Waterfront Park to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. February features the “Honor the Fallen” 5K and the very popular “Great Clermont Campout” and in March, we welcome the return of “Pig on the Pond.” Visit www.ClermontFl.gov for more details on all upcoming events.

Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving a third term as your Mayor. As promised, I will continue to do what I believe is best for our community. Please join me in welcoming newly elected Council Member Alison Strange (Seat 1) and Council Member Bill Petersen (Seat 5). I also want to express my sincere appreciation to outgoing council members Michele Pines and Michael Gonzalez for their dedication and commitment to Clermont.

As Mayor, I enjoy being able to provide updates and answer questions on the first Tuesday of each month at “Lunch with the Mayor”. On January 7, we will meet at Miller’s Ale House (1555 S. Grand Highway) and at Portillo’s (1251 E. Highway 50) on February 4. If your schedule allows, please join us at 12 p.m.

Thank you for your continued support as this year ends and we begin again renewed with strength, hope and faith. Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays to each of you and as always, you can reach me at tmurry@ClermontFl.org.

Until next time,

Mayor Tim Murry
