Mahmoud Bakeer, MD, assistant vice president, Orlando Health and chief medical officer, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, has been named to Becker’s Patient Safety Experts to Know list for 2025.

Recognized for a second consecutive year, Dr. Bakeer has played a pivotal role in developing critical care programs and structured quality departments, improving patient outcomes and hospital performance. Under his leadership, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital has achieved several awards and designations, including the U.S. News & World Report high performing hospital rating in six categories for 2025 and 14 consecutive “A” hospital safety grades from The Leapfrog Group.
