Over the past two weeks, Lower School students were warmly introduced to Mrs. Allison Varnado, Montverde Academy’s dedicated Lower School Counselor. Mrs. Varnado visited classrooms, giving children a chance to get to know her and learn about the important role she plays in their school community.
Having a counselor devoted solely to the Lower School means that students’ social, emotional, and academic needs are being met in a proactive and age-appropriate way. Whether a child is learning how to make new friends, working through big emotions, or building healthy habits for learning, Mrs. Varnado provides the guidance and tools they need to succeed.
For families, her presence brings an added layer of support during these formative years as she partners closely with teachers and parents, helping create a strong circle of care around each child. This collaboration ensures that families can feel confident their children are not only receiving an exceptional education but also developing resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being.
