The DAISY Award acknowledges nurses who demonstrate six key qualities: passion for nursing and the care they provide, empathy, teamwork and trust with patients, families, and peers, admirable personal attributes, love for patients and the nursing profession, and selflessness.
Green, an acute care nurse in the hospital’s cardiac intervention unit, was selected for exemplifying these values through her dedication to patient-centered care and her positive impact on both colleagues and patients.
The DAISY Award program was established in 1999 by the family of Patrick Barnes as a way to honor nurses for the exceptional compassion and skill they provide every day. It is now celebrated in healthcare organizations around the world.
