Chabad of S. Lake County will host an event featuring Moran Stela Yanai, an Israeli survivor who spent 54 days in captivity after being taken hostage by Hamas. The event is scheduled for Monday, November 17, at 6 pm at the Clermont City Center, 620 N. Montrose St., Clermont.
Moran Stela Yanai, a costume jewelry designer from Israel, was among the attendees at the Nova Music Festival on October 7 when Hamas terrorists launched an attack. In an effort to escape, she sought cover in a nearby ditch but was captured and taken into Gaza.
Yanai was held for 54 days before being released on November 29. During her time in captivity, she faced extreme hardship but remained determined to survive. Her experience offers a powerful account of resilience, faith, and the human capacity to overcome obstacles.
The evening will include Yanai sharing her personal story, followed by a question-and-answer session. It will also serve as an opportunity for both Jewish and non-Jewish attendees to stand in solidarity with the people of Israel and with Jewish communities worldwide, who are facing an unprecedented surge of antisemitism.
Security will be present at the event.
