Groveland residents won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy one of the area’s largest recreational projects. The highly anticipated South Lake Regional Park, located on Max Hooks Road just south of State Road 50, is approximately 70 percent complete and on track to open in March 2026.
The regional park represents a significant investment in the community’s recreational infrastructure. Once completed, the facility will feature multiple youth baseball and softball fields, multi-purpose soccer fields, a cricket pitch, and additional amenities designed to serve residents throughout South Lake County. The expansive sports complex is expected to host local leagues, tournaments, and community events, providing both recreational and economic benefits to the area.
Earlier planning documents had anticipated completion by 2024; however, construction phases and infrastructure development extended the timeline.
City leaders have consistently emphasized the park’s importance to the rapidly growing community. As Groveland continues to expand, South Lake Regional Park is designed to meet increasing demand for athletic fields and public gathering spaces.
The recreational facility will be the largest multi-use park in Lake County. With construction now entering its final stretch, residents can look forward to a spring opening that will mark a major milestone for Groveland’s recreational future.
