Nichole Meerleveld, Imagine South Lake Charter
Imagine South Lake Charter is proud to announce that third grade teacher Courtney Rector has been named Imagine Schools’ National Teacher of the Year, one of the organization’s highest honors recognizing excellence in education across its nationwide network of schools.
Courtney Rector’s recognition highlights her outstanding dedication to student achievement, innovative instruction, and commitment to fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment. Known for building strong relationships with her students and creating meaningful learning experiences, she exemplifies the mission and values of Imagine Schools.
What makes this achievement especially meaningful is Courtney’s deep-rooted connection to Imagine South Lake. A former student of the school herself, she has come full circle, returning as an educator to inspire the next generation of learners in the very place that helped shape her own educational journey. Education is truly a family legacy for Courtney, as her mother and younger sister also serve as teachers at Imagine South Lake Charter.
The award was presented in person by the CEO & President of Imagine Schools Non-Profit, who was in attendance to honor Mrs. Rector and celebrate her achievement. Also in attendance were Board Vice Chair Maurizio Landi, Board Treasurer Bill Decker, the CFO of Imagine Schools, Inc. Barry Sharp, and members of the Imagine Schools Florida team, all of whom joined in recognizing her outstanding contributions to education.
“Courtney represents the very best of our profession,” said school leadership. “Her passion for teaching, commitment to her students, and connection to our school community make her truly deserving of this national recognition.”
Imagine South Lake Charter celebrates Courtney Rector’s accomplishment and the lasting impact she continues to make on her students, colleagues, and the entire school community.
