The City of Groveland hosted a special Memorial Day Breakfast to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

The heartfelt event took place on Saturday, May 23, at the E.L. Puryear Building, where residents, veterans, families, and community members gathered to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and pay tribute to America’s fallen heroes.

Guests enjoyed breakfast provided by Florida Cracker Kitchen while listening to special guest speakers who shared messages of remembrance, patriotism, and gratitude for those who served.

The gathering provided an opportunity for the community to come together in honoring the courage and sacrifice of military service members whose legacy continues to inspire future generations.

In observance of Memorial Day, flags were also placed at veterans’ gravesites at Greenwood Cemetery and Oak Tree Union Colored Cemetery of Taylorville as a tribute to those who gave their lives in service to the nation.

The participation of Girl Scouts Troop 9797, Pack 998, Troop 4089, and Amazon helped ensure that fallen heroes were remembered with dignity, gratitude, and respect.
