Lake County Rowing Association (LCRA) athletes concluded a successful championship season with several top finishes at both the Florida Scholastic Rowing Association (FSRA) Sweep Championships and the USRowing Southeast Regional Championships.

At the FSRA Sweep Championships, the Men’s Junior 4+ crew, Arianna Hernandez, Tyler Young, Zachary Miller, Parker Hendren, and Jack Power, placed 8th in the state. Sophia Picciano and Kayla Young earned a 4th-place finish in the Women’s Pair, while the Women’s Junior 8+ crew also finished 4th statewide. The Women’s Freshman 4+ crew, Abigail Abistado, Stella Melendez, Bruna Borra, Madyson Henzmann, and Merida Herrera, earned an 8th-place finish in the state, capping off a strong season for the young crew.

LCRA continued its strong performances at the USRowing Southeast Regional Championships. Sophia Picciano placed 6th in the Women’s Youth Single, Parker Hendren finished 6th in the Men’s U17 Single, and the Women’s U17 Coxed Four crew of Gabriella Goldstein, Rowan Richardson, Madyson Henzmann, Stella Melendez, and coxswain Abigail Abistado earned a 4th-place regional finish. Their performance secured qualification for the USRowing Youth National Championships, marking a significant achievement for the young crew and the LCRA program.

These results highlight the continued growth of LCRA’s competitive rowing program and the dedication of its athletes throughout the season.
