The South Lake Florida Base of the United States Submarine Veterans and the Community Foundation of South Lake are preparing for a busy and meaningful season of community engagement, with several upcoming events designed to honor local heroes and raise awareness for the future Veterans & First Responders Memorial.
Residents are invited to mark their calendars and join in supporting these important initiatives that celebrate the service and sacrifice of veterans and first responders throughout our community.
Upcoming Community Events
Sips & Salsa
September 19, 2026 | 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Clermont Waterfront Park
Community members attending this popular annual event will have an opportunity to learn more about the Veterans & First Responders Memorial project. Representatives will be on hand to share information and answer questions about the memorial and its lasting impact on South Lake County.
Quilt of Valor Presentation
September 28, 2026 | 2:00 pm
Clermont City Hall Council Chambers
A special Quilt of Valor presentation will recognize six local Clermont veterans for their dedicated military service. The event offers the community a meaningful opportunity to honor these deserving veterans and celebrate their contributions to our nation.
Clermont National Night Out
October 1, 2026 | 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
During this community-focused event, organizers will showcase the Veterans & First Responders Memorial through a presentation featuring architectural renderings and project updates. Visitors will learn how they can support the memorial through donations and community involvement.
In addition, a raffle featuring a variety of exciting prizes and gift cards will be held to raise both awareness and funding for the memorial project. Additional raffle details will be announced as they become available.
Supporting a Lasting Tribute
The goal of participation in these events is to educate the public, increase community awareness, and generate support for the Veterans & First Responders Memorial. Once completed, the memorial will serve as a permanent tribute to the men and women who have faithfully served and protected our community and our nation.
The South Lake Florida Base (Submarine Veterans) and the Community Foundation of South Lake encourage residents to attend these events, honor local heroes, and help make this important community project a reality.
