The Florida Forest Service’s Withlacoochee Forestry Center is currently responding to a 25-acre marsh fire off Silver Eagle Road in Groveland.
Personnel from the Florida Forest Service are on scene alongside the Lake County Fire Rescue, working to contain the fire and protect nearby areas.
The Florida Forest Service has requested helicopter support to assist with firefighting operations.
Additional information will be released as conditions develop.
For the safety of both emergency personnel and the public, residents are urged to avoid the area and allow responders the space necessary to conduct operations safely and effectively.
