Residents of Groveland and Mascotte will have an opportunity to meet candidates running in the upcoming City Council elections during a community event scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24.
The event will take place from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Puryear Building, located at 243 S. Lake Ave. in Groveland.
The Meet the Candidates event will give residents an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking elected office, learn more about their backgrounds and priorities, and listen as they respond to questions about the issues affecting their communities.
Following the candidate discussion, attendees are invited to stay for an auction benefiting a local history preservation effort. Community members who wish to support the effort may donate an item or service for the auction or make a direct contribution online at GrovelandHistory.org.
Organizers encourage residents to mark their calendars, invite their neighbors and take part in this opportunity to learn more about the candidates and support the preservation of local history.
