The Lake County Animal Shelter, located at 12280 County Road 448, Tavares, is excited to announce “Catinee”, a new event series designed to bring people together, introduce residents to adoptable cats and kittens, and create opportunities for socialization.
The series starts Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at 10 am, with a Halloween screening of the original 1960 film “The Little Shop of Horrors”. The FREE event will give attendees an opportunity to spend time with shelter cats and kittens while enjoying a classic movie. Guests can also participate in a hands-on activity inspired by the film’s botanical theme: planting cat grass.
The shelter plans to host “Catinee” monthly, pairing public-domain films with cat cuddles and creative activities inspired by each movie. Future screenings and activities will be announced as details become available. To register to attend, visit REGISTRATION
