Kids Scream For Ice Cream: This month’s Coffee with Clermont Mayor Gail Ash was held at Yummi’s Frozen Yogurt and Cafe, located at the corner of 8th and Montrose in Downtown Clermont. The coffee begins at 10 am.
Yummi’s opens for business at 11 am, though that didn’t stop customers from casually looking in the window in the hopes of getting an earlier treat. A little girl and her mommy came to the entrance of the shop wanting yogurt. Yummi’s owner calmly explained that Yummi’s wasn’t opened yet. The meltdown began.
Yes, it’s true, kids do scream for ice cream. The little girl reluctantly left and returned promptly at 11 am. Watching the child, I had the urge to graze the delightful array of Yummi flavored yogurts, however, I withstood my impulsive inner child and sat sipping my coffee.

Amish Pretzel Shop (2409 US 27) near Epic Theater (Opening in September)
Boba Tea will locate near Epic Theater (opening this Fall)
Chick-Fil-A is coming to Hammock Ridge Road and US 27, Clermont (opening projected early 2019). This will be Rocky DeStefano’s second Chick-Fil-A in the Clermont area.
Dunkin Donuts will be located near Citrus Tower and Hwy 27. Expected to open in 2019
Edible Arrangements will open in late 2018 (located in the former comics store by Epic Theater). The shop will be serving food.
Growler Orlando West, a micro-brewery located at Clermont Landing near Aldi, is expected to open Fall of 2018.
Planet Fitness is coming to Hwy 27 by Anderson Hill Road in March 2019. The fitness center is being totally refurbished. Several restaurants and business will be in the complex.

Suncreek Brewery, Michael’s Ali Coal Fired Pizza, and Savoree are holding their soft opening on Tuesday, September 18. MAC’d OUT will be ready by the end of October.
The Montrose Street Market will be opening this year in Downtown Clermont. The building, located on the corner of 8thand Montrose, will house a Beer and Wine Bar, Gourmet Coffee Shop, Crepe Restaurant, Ice Cream & Cake Store, Steaks and Skewers Shop, Gourmet French Cheese Raclette Shop, Gourmet Plant Based Restaurant, Gourmet Brazilian Bites Shop, and an amazing Essential Oils and Oxygen Bar.
Chef O’s Bakery and Cafe (formerly The Main Event), located on the corner of Minneola Ave and 8thStreet, will open soon.
Clermont Brewing Co. – Coming to 750 W DeSoto Street. Construction has begun. (Opening early 2019). The CBC will offer onsite brewed craft beer, artisanal food, and live entertainment. It will have covered porches complete with furniture groupings and fire pits, a beautiful backyard and a fully air-conditioned tap room.
Florida Angler, a fishing outfitter, will open in late 2018 at 786 Montrose St. (Merchandise and lessons available.). The building is being totally renovated, yet keeping much of its historic charm. The Florida Angler will have a simulator so everyone can have the experience of reeling in a catch. Ashley Condon, the co-owner describes it’s as a great workout. In fact, some people will prefer the Angler’s simulator over the workout at the gym
The building (formerly Jalea), located at 658 West Avenue, has a new owner and plans to open a restaurant.
Krazy Kandy, a new candy store, is now open next to Solid Rocks Martial Arts on 8th Street.
RusTeak Restaurant– Coming to the location next to Lilly’s on the Lake. Opening Date TBD.
VP Skytop Wine/Bourbon Bar and restaurant/rooftop lounge will hold its groundbreaking this fall. The business will be constructed on property located at 752 W. Montrose, in the back of Engel & Volker /across from Hanks Electric.
Crawford, Modica & Holt, a law firm, will be located on the corner of Montrose and 7th. (previous location of the Clermont Herb Shoppe)

Cubesmart – a 20,000 square-foot residential, self-storage facility, located on 5.75+ acres of land on the southeast corner of Hancock Road and Trade Avenue.
Fifty West Class A Office Space -Class A office space, new retail and rooftop restaurant coming soon to the City of Clermont. Fifty West will be located on east SR50. Designed by local Clermont Powell Studio Architecture.
The Addison Apartments are being built at Hooks and Citrus Tower across from the nursing facility.
Lakes of Clermont, a skilled nursing facility, is under construction at Hooks and Citrus Tower Blvd. It is expected to open in early 2019.

Woodwinds Apartments (affordable housing) accepting applications. The Woodwinds Community will provide 96 affordable 1,2,3 bedroom apartments. The Apartments, located on a 10-acre piece of property on South Grand Highway near the intersection of Citrus Tower Boulevard, will be opening September 27.
September 29 and 30 – Fondo Cycling Circuit USA– 30, 50, and 75 mile-ride options. Clermont is one of only six cities in the United States where this event will be held in 2018.
