The Corporal Program is designed to provide career development opportunities and prepare the men and women of the Clermont Police Department for future advancement.

The Clermont Police Department recently promoted eight of its finest into the new program.

Congratulations to

Officer Nathan Farzati – Officer Farzati has been with the Clermont Police Department for 10 years. He is currently a member of the Traffic Division and has previously served in the Patrol Division and as a member of the Special Response Team. He received an Associate’s Degree from SDGA in Orlando and is married and the proud father of two wonderful little girls.

Detective Melissa France– Detective France has been a member of the Clermont Police Department since 2010 and, during that time, has worked as a patrol officer in the Traffic Division, as well as a Detective attached to an FLE task force focused on crimes against children. She received a Juris Doctor degree from the Ohio Northern University of Law.

Officer Jeremy Kevitt– Officer Kevitt has been with the department since 2005, and during that time has served as a patrol officer, Field Training Officer, and an acting supervisor. He previously served as an officer with the Mascotte Police Department, the Groveland Police Department, as well as the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.  Officer Kevitt attended both St. John’s University and the Florida International University and is currently working as a School Resource Officer.  Officer Kevitt is married and has two children.

Officer Justin Latimer –Officer Latimer has been with the department for the past 3 years and has also worked as an acting supervisor. Latimer has been with the Clermont Police Department for over 8 years and has spent his career as a night shift patrol officer. He has been a Field Training Officer for the past 3 years and has also worked as an acting supervisor. Officer Latimer played college football and attended Kent State University in Ohio.

Officer Mark Marshall– Officer Marshall has been with the Clermont Police Department since 2014 and previously worked as a deputy for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. During his time with the CPD, he has served as a member of the Patrol Division, Crime Suppression Unit, as a Field Training Officer, and as an acting supervisor. Officer Marshall is married and the father of two little boys.

Officer Christopher Martin – Officer Martin has been with the Clermont Police Department since 2015 and previously worked as an officer for the Leesburg Police Department. Officer Martin has worked as a Field Training Officer, as well as an acting supervisor. Prior to his career in law enforcement, Officer Martin served for four years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps. His is married and the father of two children.

Officer Eric Ruiz– Officer Ruiz has been with the Clermont Police Department for 15 years, and has served in the Patrol Division as a member of the Emergency Response Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, Mountain Bike Unit, as a Field Training Officer, and is a defensive tactics instructor.

Officer Thomas Stone– Officer Stone has been with the Clermont Police Department for nearly 5 years. In addition to his time at CPD, he worked in law enforcement for 15 years with NYPD, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lady Lake Police Department. In his time with Clermont, Officer Stone has been a patrol officer, a motors officer in the Traffic Division, a Field Training Officer and currently serves as a training officer in the Training Division.
