Clermont Police Department and Women’s Council of Realtors will co-host a charity auction this month.

The auction will be held from 6-9 pm on May 23 at the Clermont City Center, 620 W. Montrose St. It will benefit a new quality-of-life initiative started by the Clermont Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit.

The fundraiser will support the Clermont Community Champions Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity that assists residents who struggle with a variety of issues. This charity will help with police initiatives, such as Stuff a Cruiser, CPD Homeless Initiative, CPD Youth Mentorship and Heroes and Helpers, a program that benefits children who may need help or cheer during the holidays

The event will be a Hollywood-themed event titled “Lights, Camera, Purse Auction!” where attendees will experience all the glitz and glamour as they walk down the red carpet to their seats next to a catwalk on which the “old bags” will be displayed. Several amazing prizes will be auctioned! All bags will carry a retail value of at least $150 and some will also contain secret items.

“We are excited to support such a worthy cause,” said Clermont Police Officer Michelle Rogers, who helped organize the event.

The Clermont Police Department donated a bag for the auction, which includes, a “Day of Law and Order” certificate. This certificate allows the buyer a VIP tour of the new police headquarters, a ride along with a Clermont police officer, a hands-on training simulator experience and lunch with Chief Charles Broadway and his command staff.

Advanced tickets can be purchased for $25 by emailing Susan Walker at susan@metesandboundstitle.com.  All tickets will be sold prior to the event. Admission price includes a gourmet buffet and two tickets for the beer and wine bar.
