Khrystyna McCoy-Tremaine is a Florida native and the oldest of three children. Born in Gainesville, Florida, her family relocated to the greater Orlando area in the early part of her life. After her father’s retirement from the National Football League (NFL), Khrystyna and her family relocated to Lake County, where she attended Wendy Hill Middle School and Montverde Academy for her high school years.
Following her graduation, she made the honorable decision to serve her country and enlist in the United States Air Force. There, she received her Criminal Justice degree and is currently pursuing a second in Business Administration. While serving, Khrystyna met and married the love of her life, Bryan Tremaine. Throughout her nine-year tenure of service, Khrystyna’s father Tony McCoy was diagnosed with and battled cancer. Khrystyna felt the calling and urge to return home and assist with his recovery, the family business, and church. Although she returned on unfavorable circumstances, she was excited for the opportunity to return to Groveland, a place she considers to be her true home.
There is a strong connection between Khrystyna and Groveland’s past, present, and future. Dating back to Groveland’s beginning, it has been known for its citrus production, which gave Khrystyna’s father the opportunity as a young man to harvest the fruit for income. Later in life, when her family officially moved to the area, she recalls the city having only one street light driving through town. Presently, it is blooming with new families, businesses, and career opportunities for all.
Since returning to Groveland, Khrystyna wears many hats. She is the Admission Director for local Christian Private School, Hope Preparatory Academy and Assistant Executive Director for Hope International Church. She is also a local realtor for Engel and Völkers Realty and is still committed to serving in the United States Air Force, in the Reserve component. Her newly added venture places her in the role of the City of Groveland’s Public Information Specialist. In this capacity, Khrystyna represents Groveland and acts as its press-agentry for all agencies, to include but not limited to, media outlets for non-public safety related news. She also assists the city in the area of communication strategy and community engagement.
What Khrystyna desires most is to make a positive impact in her community. Whether through education and mentorship at the Academy, ministries at her church, assisting families in the purchase of their dream home, serving her country or supporting the rebranding of Groveland, she truly has a heart for people and is excited to be a part of the Groveland team!
Though her positions keep her busy, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and family most of all. Khrystyna is also known to be adventurous! In her spare time, she loves pushing and challenging herself to the limit. You can find her participating in 5K runs, skydiving, bungee-jumping, working out, reading, writing, traveling and laughing.
