J. Brian Miles and his wife Samantha, owners of southlake.tv, celebrated its recent opening by welcoming the business community to its location at the Suites at Hunt Industrial Park, 15430 County Road 565A in Groveland. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon-cutting.
Both J. Brian and Samantha are familiar with south Lake. J. Brian was born in Lakeland and raised in Groveland. Samantha is from Clermont. Both are 2001 graduates of South Lake High School.
Miles moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to work for an independent film production company in the finance department for films budgeted between 2.5 and 5 million dollars. “I worked my way up into a position in the product placement/brand integration field, helping our film company secure sponsorships from Fortune 100/500 companies like Dodge, McKee Foods and Ladies Home Journal. I purchased ownership of a Tennessee-based TV station in 2012 (still own) where I served a role as Director of Programming and Production”, said Miles
He explained his return to south Lake County: “I was working in Tennesee on a new/innovative system, utilizing a traditional broadcast model on digital platforms. I’ve lived on the East Coast, West Coast and even in the mountains but south Lake is my home and there is nowhere else I’d rather be”. So in 2019 the couple packed their bags and returned to south Lake to enroll their son in kindergarten.
