Richard Sweatt, 69, beloved husband of Groveland Councilwoman Dina Sweatt, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 due to COVID pneumonia.
Richard was born in Lockhart, SC on December 26, 1950 to the late Ruby and Clyde Sweatt. He was the youngest of 7 children and is survived by one sister Jackie Russel of North Carolina.
Richard was a graduate of Lockhart High School, Lockhart, South Carolina as well as a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He had a BA Degree in mathematics. He worked for Orange County ISS department for 37 years retiring in 2012 but decided he did not want to retire and went back to work for Welldyne RX in Lakeland.
Richard is survived by his wife Dina and his son Richard (Christopher) Sweatt. He had 1 granddaughter Annika B. Sweatt.
Dina and Richard would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November of this year. A memorial service for Richard will be held on November 9th at The Hope International Church. more details will be posted on Dina’s facebook page by mid October.
