May the fur be with you! The Lake County Animal Shelter will host its “May the Fur Be With You” pet adoption event on May 8 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include special guests from a galaxy far, far away who will be available for festivities and photos from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will take place at the animal shelter, located at 12280 County Road 448 in Tavares, and will offer fee-waived pet adoptions all day. Residents and other visitors are strongly encouraged to pre-register their visit at bit.ly/LCAS-MayTheFur.
“We’re looking forward to this special event, and we encourage everyone to come out, experience the fun, meet our animals and consider adopting a furever friend,” said Whitney Boylston, director of the Lake County Animal Shelter.
The Lake County Animal Shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed Wednesdays and holidays.
