A Spoonful of Sugar: Sweet Treats for a Smart Cause
GROVELAND, FL = A Spoonful of Sugar is serving up a delightful mix of nostalgia, community spirit, and just the right amount of indulgence on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Hosted by Friends of the Marion Baysinger Memorial Library, this charming fundraiser invites guests of all ages to slow down, savor something sweet, and support a place that continues to shape young minds and strengthen community.
At the heart of the afternoon is an old-fashioned Cake Walk – simple, a little unpredictable, and surprisingly competitive once it starts. A ticket raffle with over 50 items will be called at 3:00 PM.
Free ice cream (while it lasts!) desserts, coffee, sweet tea, and lemonade await while the Sugar Cube play zone provides a coloring station, free games with sweet prizes, and a space for young children to settle in while grown-ups debate whether they really need “just one more” slice of pie.
“We hope to bring generations together by sharing something in common – the joy of helping a child learn to read with the love of a delicious dessert” shares organizer, Mary Millour.
Proceeds support the Marion Baysinger Memorial Library’s pre-school children’s literacy and social activity programs.
Admission is free. Come by, take your time, and leave with something sweet – a dessert, a prize, and a new toothbrush!
