Sports Update – Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16)

Monday, March 12

  • Girls Lacrosse Team defeated Jones High, 18 – 3.
  • Softball defeated Mt. Dora 16 – 3.

Tuesday, March 13

  • On a beautiful evening, the Lake Minneola Batting Cage was dedicated after three long years of construction.
  • Later that evening, Softball defeated Buchholz, 8 – 7, in the bottom of the 7thinning on a huge hit from Kayla Parra.
  • Ocoee defeated the Hawks baseball team 12 – 7. Hudson Welch hit a home run for the Hawks.
  • Boys Lacrosse ran into a strong West Orange team.

Wednesday, March 14

  • Girls Lacrosse defeated Ocoee, 18 – 3.

Thursday, March 15

  • Girls Lacrosse played a very talented Seminole team.
  • Boys Lacrosse defeated East Ridge 18 – 7.
  • Softball defeated Buchholz 5 – 2 to remain undefeated in District play.

Friday, March 16

  • Baseball lost at Ocoee 4 – 3.

On Friday of Spring Break, Cadi Rowe ran personal bests in the 800m and 1600m, once again breaking her own school record.  Malachi Shannon, Mimi Cleaves and Jasmine Lawrence each finished in the top 10 of their respective events.

Schedule of Events

After a long Spring Break, the Hawks are ready to get back to playing some games.  

Tuesday, March 27

  • Baseball Team will travel to Forest, and
  • Girls Lacrosse travels to Forest,
  • Freshman members of the Track team compete at South Sumter.
  • Tennis will travel to West Orange, while
  • Softball will also host East Ridge in a battle of the two undefeated teams in the District.

Thursday, March 29

  • Girls Lacrosse will host South Lake High School.
  • Tennis will host East Ridge, while
  • Boys Lacrosse travels to First Academy, and
  • Softball travels to East Ridge.

Friday, March 30

  • Baseball will host Forest

Several track members will compete at the University of Florida on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
