The City of Clermont announced work will begin on Osceola Street beginning Monday, April 9, to install new stormwater drainage pipe. Small sections of the street will be closed temporarily; but access to local businesses, as well as to the South Lake Trail and sidewalks, will remain open at all times.

The main impact will affect Osceola Street, between West Avenue and 8th Street, where new stormwater pipe will be installed under the center of the road. Lilly’s on the Lake, Clermont Cabanas, and Florida Plus Realty, as well as surrounding businesses, will remain open with access during the pipe installation.

The stormwater improvements are part of the $9.5 million-dollar Victory Pointe project, the linchpin of the City’s award-winning master plan. Victory Pointe is scheduled to open this summer.

The temporary closures along Osceola will happen in three phases:

  • Phase 1, April 9 – 13: Osceola Street near West Avenue
  • Phase 2, April 16 – 18: Osceola Street in front of Clermont Cabanas and entrance to Lilly’s on the Lake parking lot – NIGHT WORK ONLY, from 10 p.m. – 9 a.m.
  • Phase 3, April 19 – May 4: Osceola Street, near the 8thStreet intersection.
