Applications for Educational Choice open enrollment in Lake County Schools will again be accepted from June 1 through June 30.

Educational Choice allows students to be enrolled in public schools outside of their attendance boundaries as long as the school has the capacity and the student’s family can provide transportation.

The first enrollment window was Feb. 1 through April 30 for Lake County residents only. Many of the open seats were filled at that time. The second enrollment window, from June 1 through June 30, is for Lake residents as well as those who live outside of Lake.

While the school district makes every effort to accommodate Educational Choice requests, many of the schools are at or above capacity, which means they cannot accommodate students who live outside the attendance area to which those schools are assigned.
