Clermont Historic Village

The South Lake County Historical Society invites you to host your next gathering at the 1924 train depot located in Clermont’s Historic Village.  The depot is ideally situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola where cooling breezes can be felt even on the warmest days.  The depot offers ample parking, two side pavilions and an air-conditioned meeting room that is ideal for events like baby showers, birthday & anniversary parties and small wedding receptions.  The grounds of the Village also offer beautiful views of the new Victory Pointe which offer the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony.

The Historic Village is located at 490 West Ave. Clermont, not far from the city’s historic downtown shopping district and is open to the public every Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm and every Saturday & Sunday from 1pm  to 4 pm.  If you are interested in renting the depot,  come and see all the village has to offer?  While you are there, you can tour all the other historic buildings in the Village.  Admission is free but a donation of $2.00 per adult is requested.

If you are interested in history in general or the history of Lake County in particular, contact the South Lake County Historical Society by going to our website, ClermontVillage.org; by calling Roxanne Brown, Village Manager, at 352-432-3496; or by attending our membership meetings which are held on the second Monday of the month at 7 pm in the Train Depot in the Historic Village.  The next meeting will be September 10.  After touring the Village, please like us on Facebook.
