Saturday morning parkrun

by clermontwaterfrontparkrun

Now that school has begun for most, the hordes of junior athletes are now off racing into a new season or busy sleeping in after stressful weekdays. Despite their absence, this week’s parkrun still had a great showing of runners, joggers, and walkers. In total, 124 people took on the 5k course along the shores of Lake Minneola. There were 24 were first timers, 23 new Personal Bests, and representatives from 20 different clubs. It was a great way to kick off the month of September!

Jeremy Arguelles finished first on the male side with a very solid time of 17:29. Kevin Grogan got back on the podium again this week, his time of 18:11 earning him a second place finish. Rounding out the podium was first-timer Peter Buffington in 18:47.

First timer Karen Veit ran a 23:14 to finish first for the females. The second was Anne Mcfarlane in 24:31, and third was Michelle Reynolds in 25:19.

All of the participants this weekend did amazing, congratulations to all the runners and walkers! We hope to see everyone again next week.
