The Foundations for Education program in partnership with the South Lake Chamber will award five deserving high school students with a $1,000 scholarship this school year.

The student to receive the first Outstanding Student Leader Award of the 2018-2019 school year is Elizabeth Buzbee from Montverde Academy.

Elizabeth has a GPA of 4.33 and is a member of the National Honors Society, Science Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, Math Honors Society, and Key Club. She was awarded the Honor Council and the Distinguished Scholar award.

Elizabeth has played on the volleyball and basketball teams and currently manages the volleyball team.

Within the community, Elizabeth sits on the board of an inaugural committee of teens that organize and host an annual St. Jude Fundraiser.  She volunteers at the animal shelter and also works as a producer for Molly Smith Productions.
