The 28th Great Floridian Triathlon was held last weekend at Victory Pointe park.  Athletes from all over the world gathered to compete in the grueling events. Fred Sommer of Sommersports, Mayor Gail Ash and City Manager Darren Gray kicked off the Grand event with welcoming remarks.

It was the first time in Clermont history that the race started at Victory Pointe park and ended in front of the new Suncreek Brewery in Downtown Clermont.

Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in the day’s events. Special recognition to those who competed and completed the grueling ULTA Triathlon (2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2 run). You are AMAZING! Kudos to Locals Joseph Rogers and Michelle Bolhuis!

In the 1/3 Triathlon, local Tamara Kozuline was first over the finish line followed in 6th place by Tim Crowley and in 11th place Josh Castleman!

Clermont City Councilwoman Diane Travis was the first woman to finish the  Duathlon (Congratulations!)
