Lake County Solid Waste residential trash collection services will operate normally during the holiday week and the Central Landfill Facility, 13130 County Landfill Road, Tavares, will be open on Monday, Nov. 12. The Lake County Animal Shelter, located at 28123 County Road 561, Tavares, will be closed on Monday but will host the Veterans Day Patriots’ Pet Adoption Weekend on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. In honor of Veterans Day, all U.S. service members, past and present, are invited to welcome home a loyal pet at no cost.
