Derek Nhieu, a guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Clermont, was introduced by Jacqueline Ohlrich from East Ridge High School Key Club.
Derek currently serves as the Lieutenant Governor for Division 9; District Webmaster; Governor’s Project Committee Chair and the DCON 2019 Forms Coordinator for the Florida District and Key Club International, Inc. He is a senior at the Villages High School and a member of their Key Club.
Derek heard of the Key Club Organization from a friend and was glad that he became a member. In his first year as a member, he served as the Webmaster for his club. Derek thanked our club and all other Kiwanis clubs for our support and guidance.
Derek also talked about his accomplishments as Lt. Governor, which included getting all Key Clubs to submit their completed Officer Information Forms and pay all their dues. He stated that the division chartered a new Key Club at South Sumter High School this year and how excited their members are about being part of a great organization. Derek said there was excellent divisional attendance at all events, including the Key Club Kickoff Conference and Spring Zone Rally. He is happy that he is a member of a great organization and that he plans to join Circle K International when he attends college. Derek shared with the club the various Universities where he was accepted including the University of Florida, Miami, North Carolina, Southern California, Michigan, California- Berkley and Pennsylvania.
President-Elect Charles Seaver thanked him for his dedication and commitment to the organization and presented him with a club pin.
