The South Lake Community is growing with lots of options

Below are some of the recently opened or coming soon to the South Lake Community.  This is an update, some of the information may be old news to some and new news to others but all news is good news.

SR 50

Bella Italian Bakery – Next to Beef O’Brady’s. The bakery will be using generational recipes and baking onsite.

Dan Newlin Law Office – 17330 SR 50 (Magnolia Center), coming soon. This will be the home office.  The building will also house Sherwin Williams Paints and Outdoor Kitchens.

Fifty West – A Class A office and retail space on State Road 50 (near Toyota) held its groundbreaking ceremony on June 14 (see additional information at CLASS A )

Green Mountain Pizza – Now Open at 303 East State Road 50, Clermont (Sunnyside Plaza).  Takeout offering a selection of pizza, pasta, subs, burgers, wings and other things.

Key Food Supermarket– replaces Bravo’s Supermarket at 701 East Hwy 50 (corner of Bloxam and Hwy 50).

Mind Masters Escape Room  – Opening soon. A great team building or family experience. Located at 1453 E. Hwy 50, Clermont (located by Modern Orthodontics).

Root & Branch Bistro + Bar– 1200 Oakley Seaver Drive, Ste. 102 (next to Gators Dockside in Oakley Plaza) offers casual fine dining with brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, and coffee.

Southern Nutrition–  Now Open at 1600 Hancock Road, Suite B, Clermont, next to 5 Guys. Specializing in vitamins, supplements, and weight loss products for a healthier lifestyle.

The Outpouring– Now Open at 2560 E. State Road 50, Ste. 107 (Hancock Village).  Coffee shop supporting local and international causes.

Wendy’s – Now Open- located at 7549 SR 50, Groveland. Next to Taco Bell (across from Publix shopping center).

Hwy 27               

Burgerim Restaurant – Now Open at 2447 S. Hwy 27, ( Clermont Landing) near Keke’s Cafe  The fast food restaurant offers mini burgers, wings, and salad.

 Citrus Tower– New businesses at The Citrus Tower include:

Mountaineer Coffee – (Now Open) 141 US Highway 27, at the Citrus Tower. Offering coffee, tea, and pastries.

Tower Arcade and Lounge – 141 US Highway 27 at the Citrus Tower (Coming soon). Offering a wide assortment of arcade games as well as beer and wine and snacks.

Happy Troll Games– (Now Open) 155 US Highway 27 near Citrus Tower. Offering board game/collectibles store with private event space.

Dunkin Donuts  –  located near Citrus Tower Blvd and Hwy 27 South (near Chick-fil-A).  Expected to open in summer 2019

Planet Fitness is coming to Hwy 27 by Anderson Hill Road, Clermont.

Watch the Dirt Moving and the new buildings underway at the Shoppes at Anderson Hill (by Planet Fitness).  Businesses include:

Rita’s Italian IceClean Eats and Smoothie King plan to open at the newly constructed Shoppes at Anderson Hill (located at Anderson Hill and Rte. 27.

Growler USA (Orlando West)2507 S US Highway 27 (Clermont Landing) A microbrew pub offers 100 taps of craft beer, hard cider, wine, and pub menu (really good).

RaceTrac – dirt is moving on U.S. Hwy 27 and W. Washington St. Minneola, across from Minneola Grill to make way for RaceTrac. Minneola Grill is currently closed but expected to  reopen.  (A little history on how it began, visit  RACETRAC)


 

DOWNTOWN CLERMONT

Now open: Two Breweries Open in Downtown Clermont!

Suncreek Brewery – located at 790 W. Minneola, has added MAC’d Out to its casual dining experience. Savoree Deli and Michael Ali Coal Fired Pizza also available.  Dine in the air-conditioned area, eat outside while listening to live entertainment or take home.

Clermont Brewing Co. – 750 W DeSoto Street. CBC offers onsite brewed craft beer, artisanal food, and live entertainment. It has covered porches complete with furniture groupings and fire pits, a beautiful backyard and a  fully air-conditioned tap room.

Corelli’s Pantry – 732 W. Montrose St. offering Pizza, deli, soups, and sandwiches. Dine in or eat outside or take home. This is Corelli’s second restaurant. Corelli’s Italian Restaurant, located in the CF Fitness Shopping Center on Hwy 50, offers a wider variety of Italian dishes.

Corelli’s Dolceria Italiana –  763 W. Montrose St. An Italian bakery with gelato, cookie dough.

Dash-Sports (opening July 10) – located at 741 W. Montrose St. Clermont. Rebranded from Gear for Multisports. Offers athletic gear, rentals, training sessions. Dash-Sports also has a location at the NTC.

Montrose Market – located on the corner on Montrose and 8thStreet, will open soon.  It will house Sir Benji Donuts, More Than Cheese, Back to Basics. Oxygen Bar, Golden Hills Coffee and Tea, a Clothing Boutique, Sodu Sushi, Jour de Crepe, Box Grill, Roaster’s Café, as well as a wine bar. Planned opening, approximately August

Offices in Downtown Clermont – The future home of a  2,000 square feet office space located at 752 West Montrose Street.


Interesting City Tidbits

CLERMONT BOAT RAMP

Dirt is moving and the long-awaited Clermont Boat Ramp is underway and expected to be complete by end of year. Fees have yet to be determined and will be discussed at a  council meeting. Work has started on the trail reroute so the old trail will be closed to construct the ramp and parking.

 

Kehlor Recreation Center 466 West Montrose, Clermont will open this summer. All the programs currently operating at the Arts and Recreation Center (ARC) will continue at the ARC. The city will be adding a number of those programs to the Kehlor Recreation Center, including lunch and learns.

There is no better way to learn what’s happening in your community than to attend a council/board meeting. 

Before a meeting, you can review the agenda posted on the city’s website. If interested, drop on by and don’t be shy.  If you have something to say, say it. Just remember, follow the rules of order and keep on point. Even if you disapprove of an item under discussion, no one should disrespect the council or disrupt a meeting. Your words are important.

Clermont City Council: Meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers of Clermont’s City Hall at 6:30 pm

Groveland City Council: Meets the first and third Monday of every month at 7 pm in the E.L. Puryear Building.

Mascotte City Council: Meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Tedder-Thomas Memorial Civic Center, located at 121 N. Sunset Avenue.

Minneola City Council: Meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers at 800 N. US Hwy 27, Minneola

Montverde Town Council: Meets in the Town Hall, 17404 Sixth Street on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm.
