The sky above South Lake County seemed to explode in color and BOOM as the community celebrated the climax of July 4, 2019. No one needed to travel far to celebrate. Families and friends gathered at homes, parks and community events. In spite of the hot weather and on and off rains, the color of the day was red, white and blue; flags flew and lined the borders of homes and stores, and the smell of barbeque and lite fireworks hung in the air long past midnight

Groveland’s Star-Spangled Spectacular is a favorite event in the community. If you enjoy celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends in a beautiful setting filled with music, food, and fun, this was the place to be. The evening climaxed with a dueling fireworks show.  Lake Catherine Blueberries did a fantastic job making the 4th of July a memorable event.

Clermont – Red, White, and BOOM! For more than 50 years, people have gathered along the lakefront on Lake Minneola to swim, picnic, and enjoy the music, food, and fun.  If may be difficult finding a place to park but, whether viewing the fireworks by boat or on a blanket, it’s worth it. The Clermont Parks and Recreation Department did an amazing job.
