The National Endowment for the Arts is awarding Lake-Sumter State College Foundation, Inc. a grant of $10,000 to support the 2019-2020 George O. Pringle Performing Arts Series.

“All Americans should have access to the arts,” said Mary Anne Carter, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. “Grants such as this one to Lake-Sumter State College Foundation, Inc. are an important part of the National Endowment for the Arts’ work to ensure people in communities both large and small across the nation have the opportunity to experience the arts.”

“Our Performing Arts programs offer an eclectic mix of world-class entertainment to our communities in their own backyard,” said Dr. Laura Byrd, LSSC VP of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the LSSC Foundation. “The 2019-2020 schedule for the George O. Pringle Performing Arts Series is one of our most diverse groups of performances yet.”

This year’s George O. Pringle Performing Arts Series includes performances by Color Me Jazz, Superstar:  The Carpenters, Celtic Angels Christmas, Jukebox Saturday Night, The Quebe Sisters, and Golden Dragon Acrobats.

Lake-Sumter State College’s Performing Arts Series is an enduring legacy that started over 30 years ago with Lake County resident and avid supporter of the arts, George O. Pringle.

“I’m proud that through the stewardship of the LSSC Foundation, Mr. Pringle’s dream has become a legacy and the Performing Arts Series has continued to grow and bring the best in arts and entertainment to our local community,” said Byrd. “We appreciate any support we receive and look forward to seeing you at a show this year.”
