The Clermont Police Department is launching a new initiative to support autism awareness.

With your help, the department is participating in the nationwide New Rochelle Police Autism Patch Challenge. You can purchase custom Clermont Police patches starting now for just $5 each leading up to April, which is Autism Awareness Month.

Patches will be for sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Clermont Police Department, 3600 S. U.S. Highway 27, cash only. All proceeds will be donated to a local autism organization.

The Autism Society of America launched a nationwide effort about 25 years ago to promote autism awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all, and to ensure that each person with autism spectrum disorder is provided an opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life.
