Kids are invited to hang out with their local heroes for a good cause.

The Clermont Police Department will host the 6th annual Lights and Ladders community event from 5-9 pm. TODAY, Friday, Jan. 31 at Sky Zone Trampoline Park, 2510 S. U.S. Highway 27.

The Clermont Police Department is partnering with Sky Zone and the Clermont Fire Department for this worthwhile event. Sky Zone will host free 30-minute jump sessions throughout the night for children age 5-15; space is limited.

“That includes regular jumping and dodgeball, and of course the kids get to jump and play dodgeball with the police officers during this time,” Sky Zone General Manager Corey Russell said. “With our new renovations, children will get to participate in a Ninja Warrior course, a foam pit and a rock wall.”

Admission is free. The public is encouraged to bring a $1 donation to help support the Wounded Officers Initiative. The net proceeds from the event also will support this charity. In addition, show your support by bringing a non-perishable food item for the pantry at the Family Christian Center.

Thousands of free food samples will be handed out from a variety of local restaurants from 6-8 pm. Free activities include Sky Zone jumping, interaction with the Clermont Police and Fire departments (in Sky Zone and at static vehicle displays), bounce houses, obstacle courses, games, slides and more. This event is appropriate for all ages.

“We look forward to this annual event which provides the general public an opportunity to interact with members of the Clermont Police Department in fun, family setting,” stated Chief Broadway. “Sky Zone has done a tremendous job creating an exciting environment while bringing awareness and raising funds to support very worthy causes like the Wounded Officers Initiative”.
