In preparation for the March 17, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) election, Alan Hays, Lake County Supervisor of Elections, is pleased to announce the addition of one new Early Voting site and a change in the Mt. Dora Early Voting site. Hays commented, “We hate to make changes, but at times there are circumstances that make it necessary to change locations.” 

The additional site is the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center. Early Voting in Mt. Dora will return to the W. T. Bland Library. Early voting will NOT be held at Lake Receptions this year.

There are also some changes in polling places for Election Day voting as well. The new locations are as follows: 

Precinct 7 – new location for Sullivan Ranch residents: 30450 Bretton Loop, Mt. Dora Precinct 11 – new polling location. Lady Lake Library, 225 W. Guava St. Lady Lake
Precinct 21 – new polling location. Howey Community Church, 420 N. Palm Ave. Howey Precinct 44 – new polling location. Eustis Service Center, 301 W. Ward Ave. Eustis
Precinct 49 – new polling location. Crossroads Church, 275 Griffin Ave. Lady Lake
Precinct 93 – new polling location. Mt. Dora First Baptist Church, 1000 E. First Ave. Mt. Dora 

In the March 17, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary election, Democrat and Republican voters in Florida will choose their party nominee for the Presidential Election in November. Everyone wishing to vote in either of the party primary elections must be registered as a member of that specific party no later than February 18, 2020. 

All registered voters in Eustis and Groveland will be voting on additional items. Eustis voters will be choosing whether to approve or disapprove a referendum relating to building a new community center. Groveland voters will decide a race for city council membership. 

Early Voting runs from March 5-14, 2020. The hours are 10 am – 6 pm. The 11 locations of early voting are easily available on our website, www.LakeVotes.com, or citizens are welcome to call us at 352-343-9734 for directions. 

Voters impacted by these precinct/polling place changes were mailed updated voter information cards denoting their new polling place location. Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day, and signage will be noted at the old polling location sites directing voters to the new locations. Voters can also visit the Lake County Supervisor of Elections website (www.LakeVotes.com) and click the Where Do I Vote tab for up-to-date precinct and polling location information. Voters are required to vote at their assigned precinct on Election Day.

DATE SUMMARY

February 18 Everyone wishing to vote in either of the party primary elections must be registered as a member of that specific party no later than February 18.

March 5-14 – Early Primary Voting runs from March 5-14, 2020. The hours are 10 am – 6 pm.

March 17 – Primary Voting – Polls are open from 7 am to 7 pm.
