The Clermont Youth Council is an ongoing program providing students selected from the three south Lake County high schools a chance to learn about city government and many of the city departments. After months of familiarization and interaction with the city, the students collaborate to create a project that they feel will benefit the departments and/or the community. The students also have the opportunity to visit with State Legislators in Tallahassee. Tracy Ackroyd Howe, the Clermont City Clerk, is the program sponsor.
