What is a SIG? SIG stands for a Special Interest Group. It is a group of people who have an interest in learning, helping, and mentoring one another on a particular topic or subject. A Special Interest Group could be in any topic from techniques in Photography to the art of crochet.  In Genealogy, there are a lot of different subject matters to have an interest in.  Some people enjoy preserving photographs and others are interested in a particular part of the world or culture.

Pastfinders of South Lake County Genealogy Society is hosting 3 different special groups that might match your fancy. These classes meet virtually on Zoom at different times of the month, you can join one or you can join them all.

Family Tree Maker SIG is a software used to create, record, store, and design books to share your family history. Are you thinking of buying the software, join the group so you can learn how it works before you buy?  Irish Heritage SIG teaches techniques in finding your Irish family line, and the DNA SIG will help you understand what your DNA results say about you and your matches.  If you are interested in genealogy and preserving your family history please check out the free Special Interest Groups posted on the website “PastfindersSLC.Org”  There is nothing more rewarding than climbing one’s family tree.
