January 14: The COVID-19 Virus 

Across the Nation, there are 100,000 new cases of COVID-19 and over 1,800 lost lives reported in the past 24 hours. Since March, A total of 23 million cases of COVID has been reported and 386,194 lost lives.

Globally, 92 million people have tested positive and close to 2 million have died from the COVID-19 virus.

The total COVID cases in the state of Florida rose to over 1.5 million since mid-March and an increase of 121,286 in the past 7 days. The number of hospitalized total 67,036, an increase of 2,715 cases this past 7 days.

In Lake County – A total of 18,753 residents tested positive since March, an increase of  1,856 in the past 7 days.  The total hospitalized in Lake, 1,073 an increase of 59.  The total of 339 deaths recorded, in the past 7 days.

In South Lake –  COVID Cases In South Lake hit 7,314.
