Evie Wisdo receives the Ray Goodgame Award from SLCC President David Colby

The Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award was developed to honor students in the South Lake community that not only excel in academics but also in service and leadership within their school and community.

The award honors Goodgame’s memory and his constant commitment to the South Lake community through education and volunteerism. He was far more than a city councilman and community advocate. He passionately served the citizens of the City of Clermont for 15 years.

Like Ray, the students who receive the award serve as a champion for the community.

Evie Wisdo, a recent Lake Minneola High School graduate, was presented the award at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast on Friday, July 16.

Evie has served as a  volunteer over the years at the Teacher Appreciation Breakfasts and Taste of South Lake. Each year she can be found stuffing bags, organizing door prizes, setting up booths and running errands. Evie did all of this on top of her rigorous course load and dance. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce expressed its thanks to her for her dedication to the events

Evie enters Lake-Sumter State College this fall.

Congratulations Evie.
