The City of Orlando’s After-School All-Stars program received a $5,000 donation from Kroger Delivery to help the organization continue its mission while strengthening the current programming and making a positive impact on the youth served in the Orlando area.

“This is the season of giving and we are so grateful to Kroger for providing food, financial support and smiles to our students and families,” said Star McReynolds, director of external affairs for Orlando After-School Stars. “The holidays are a difficult time of year for struggling families and thanks to Kroger Delivery and our volunteers from the All-Stars Leadership Council for coming together to make this a special day for our students at Carver Middle School.”

The check was presented to the program by Kroger Delivery team members at the Decemberfest event, hosted at Carver Middle School. Nearly 100 students enjoyed a pizza party and holiday activities such as cookie decorating, ornament painting and card making in a festive celebration of the holidays. The event concluded with each student selecting two gifts, either for themselves or to give as gifts, and receiving a Kroger Delivery bag of fresh produce and grocery items to take home.

“We are really excited about partnering with the After-School All-Stars to engage students and support this important community program,” said Brandon McBurney, general manager of the Groveland Fulfillment Center. “While our business focuses on providing fresh food and groceries to people, we strive to be highly engaged in our communities to make a difference as well. We appreciate the opportunity to support this program’s mission of helping students succeed in school and in life and look forward to working together.”
