Members of the South Lake County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Groveland’s first wine and beer bar, Barrels & Boards, with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, January 10.

Located in the Groveland Publix Shopping Center at 7965 State Road 50 since October 2021, owners Suzanne & Scott Powers offer over 50 different wines and 49 different craft beers including local offerings from Lake County’s Lake Ridge Winery and Clermont’s Sun Creek Brewery.
“Our focus is high-quality wines paired with a variety of food “boards” in a relaxing atmosphere.  Craft and specialty beers are also available,” said owner Suzanne Powers.
Along with the meat. cheese and dessert boards, they also offer live music from local bands on Friday and Saturday nights, trivia night on Thursdays as well as special parties including the upcoming Super Bowl.  They normally are closed on Sundays but will make an exception for the football championship game.
Video Games, Dart Boards plus televised sports add to the relaxed atmosphere in a setting not previously offered west of Clermont.  Open Monday through Thursday 11 am to 10 pm and Friday and Saturday 11 am to midnight, they also offer special bookings for parties and events and can be contacted at 352-557-5007.
