Dr. Steve Asmann visited second graders at Real Life Christian Academy, bringing them stories of Clermont in days gone by.  Dr. Asmann is a member of the Kiwanis Club of South Lake.  The club has created a coloring and activity book to teach children about the history of their hometown.  Did you know that Clermont was named after the French birthplace of one of its founders?  Did you know that Clermont was once the tomato capitol of Florida?  To learn more fun facts about Clermont, you can pick up your own free copy of Colorful Clermont, a journey through time at the Clermont Historic Village Museum at 490 West Avenue, which is open on the weekends, or at the Sunshine Book Co., 647 Lake Avenue.

Kiwanis International is a global organization dedicated to improving the lives of children.  Our club provides support to many local programs and charities.  For more information about Kiwanis or the Kiwanis Club of South Lake, please visit us at Kiwanis.org or kcosl.org.
