Mary Hanausek-Peterman, a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend, received her angel wings on Wednesday, June 15, at her home in Winter Garden. Mary was born on September 1, 1937, in New York, to Rita and Frank Hanausek.  On September 4, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart and raised three daughters, Judy, Susan and Debbie, and son, Joseph.

She and her husband Joe moved to Clermont in 1972. She worked for many years at South Lake Hospital and later at Health Central during which time, she gained many friends. 

Mary and Joe were happily married for 67 years. During her battle with Alzheimers, she never forgot the ones she loved. She’ll be watching over them from above.  

The Girls

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Joe; daughters Judy and husband Pat Pizzonia; Susan Byrd; Debbie and husband Steve Batchelor; and son, Joseph Peterman. Grandchildren Anthony Caughell and wife Jessica; Amy and husband Jimmy Ruiz; Kaitlyn Batchelor; Steven Batchelor and wife Mari; Sydney and Samantha Peterman, and 7 great-grandchildren: Austin, Grayson, Kiley, Aubri, Savannah, Jimmy and David; Sister Michelle Delaney and husband Bill. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father Rita and Frank Hanausek.

Mary was kind, giving, and devoted to her husband and family.  She was loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On Sunday, June 26 at 1 pm, a Celebration of Life will be held at Hyde Park Reception Hall, 14253 W. Colonial Drive., Winter Garden, FL 34787 for family and friends to share some of their favorite memories of Mary.
