Master Guru, Uday Kadam is from a small village 300 miles south of Mumbai, India. His father was Kadam’s first ‘Guru’ mentor and a respected teacher. While attending college in Bombay, Kadam worked at the famous Taj Mahal Hotel Restaurant. He studied under the talents of many internationally respected guru chefs who inspired him in what would become his life’s most desired profession. Kadam stepped up his professional career as a Manager for Marriott Hotels in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt before coming to work in the United States in 1982. He was a professional Food & Beverage Manager at the Disney Polynesian. He has over 40 years of successful experience in the restaurant and hospitality business here in the Orlando area. Kadam shares, “The word Guru means ‘Master’ and ‘A Sharing Teacher’. I was fortunate to learn from the best of the best chefs at Marriott and Disney!”

Savory Indian Cuisine: Guru offers you a very diverse menu with dozens of delicious entrée options. Every dish is custom created with very fresh ingredients, sauces and spices. Each dish is spiced to match your personal desires from mild and normal to hot. Every Guru Indian Restaurant dine-in experience is started with a complimentary dish of Pappadam chips, served with onion and sweet mango chutney as a welcoming gift. Their unique appetizers as well as their cooked chicken, beef, lamb, seafood, vegetable and Biryani dishes are always cooked to perfection. To enhance any meal, beers, wines and Indian Chai Teas are available.

Guru offers a diverse menu of premium-quality beef, lamb, seafood, poultry and vegan entrees. Their Biryani specialties are tender meat and basmati rice combinations made in Hyderabadi style. All 10 varieties of naan breads are cooked fresh in their special clay ovens. They offer Sweet Mango Chutney, Raita and Pappdam. Plus, they offer homemade mango and pistachio flavored ice creams, Gulab Jamun and Ras Malai for refreshing desserts. Domestic and Indian beers as well as a large variety of house and brand wines as well as Indian Chai Tea are available. They offer a special Children’s Menu with simple chicken fingers and Indian-style pizzas. Guru serves very generous portions of the finest quality foods available, with some savory extras going home for a second meal.

Kadam notes, “Two of the most popular dishes remain Butter Chicken and Chicken Masala. Butter Chicken is offered with boneless pieces of fresh white chicken breast tikka, cooked in a special butter sauce and served in a creamy tomato base over Basmati rice. Chicken Tikka Masala is marinated with fresh yogurt, creams and spices for 24 hours. Chicken Masala is cooked fresh for each diner and served with bite-sized boneless chicken breast pieces after being cooked in the Tandoor clay oven with a light tomato sauce, onions, aromatic herbs and spices.”

Guru Indian Restaurant started to give away free bottles of wine and beer during the pandemic with minimum ToGo pick-up orders.
