Construction on the 60-acre sports campus will begin later this year.

The Olympus property has approvals for 1 million square feet of sports and entertainment venues, 1,000 residential units, 1,300 hotel rooms, and 1 million square feet of retail, restaurant and office space.

The 250-acre, mixed-use Olympus Sports & Entertainment project has landed a partnership with Clash Endurance — a Daytona Beach-based sports media and endurance event company — as the exclusive endurance sports and triathlon event.

This move signals another step in Olympus Sports’ progress as it heads toward starting construction.

The massive Clermont sports complex, which is estimated to inject $1.5 billion in economic value at buildout, will begin work on the 60-acre sports campus “later this year,” according to a news release. No specific timeline for construction was detailed.

The development of the campus will begin with construction of five major sports venues, including the championship red-clay tennis complex, a soccer complex, the ice sports center, a criterium course and an Olympus Athlete Center.
